For a group that wants a round-based horde shooter with optional quests, the current sale is worth considering. Solo is officially supported. Public matchmaking reliability, console performance and current endgame balance were not playtested for this assessment. Buy for the existing six maps, rather than an assumed schedule of future content.
| Source | Result | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Steam English all-time | 84% positive; 3,997 reviews | Very Positive; language-specific |
| Steam recent | 42% positive; 14 reviews | Last 30 days; small sample |
| PlayStation Store | 4.07/5; about 2.8K ratings | Store purchaser ratings |
| PlayStation Universe (24 Apr 2024) | 7.5/10 | Historical PS5 critic review |
Steam says off-topic periods are excluded from its displayed score. This is not evidence that particular negative reviews are illegitimate. Metacritic returned HTTP 403 and Epic’s product page was blocked during this audit, so their earlier numeric ratings are not presented as newly verified scores.
What changed since launch
- PS4 and Xbox One support and crossplay arrived with the 24 April 2025 anniversary update.
- The v1.3 notes are dated 10 July 2025; the announcement was published 11 July. They added third person, a PC voice-chat trial and over 70 custom modifiers.
- Patch 1.3.3 is dated 28 January 2026; its announcement appeared 29 January.
- The July 2026 edition announcement, amended 14 October, lowers prices and defines Nightmare/Inferno. It announces no new gameplay in that post and does not rule out future additions.
Who should buy, and who should wait
For a premade group: compare platforms and use Party Codes. For solo: expect to handle all objectives yourself; the 2024 PSU review found that demanding. For public matchmaking: Steam counts are only one part of the crossplay pool. For cosmetic collectors: Inferno has more cosmetics, with no extra gameplay.
PlayStation Universe’s 2024 review praised the basic shooting and narrative approach while criticizing balance, sound and technical issues. Later patches exist, so those launch complaints cannot establish today’s frame rate or stability. The next practical checks are the price snapshot and your party’s platform requirements.

Questions people ask
Is Sker Ritual worth $6.79?
Consider it if you want round-based shooting and have friends or are happy to play solo. At the US Steam sale snapshot on 24 October 2026 it costs $6.79; Epic has a time-limited free claim. If instant public matchmaking or scheduled new maps are essential, check those separately before buying. This is an editorial assessment of sources, not a new playtest.
What do the store scores mean?
At the 24 October 2026 03:10–03:14 UTC capture, Steam’s English all-time banner is 84% positive from 3,997 reviews. Its recent window is 42% from only 14 reviews. PlayStation shows 4.07/5 from about 2.8K ratings. These use different audiences and scales.
Is solo supported?
Yes. The studio supports solo and up to four online players, with horde intensity scaling to player count. PlayStation Universe’s April 2024 review criticized the solo objective workload. That launch review is historical evidence, not a 2026 performance test.
